Ruslan Penchev is the Rector of the International Business School in Bulgaria. Since his institution adopted Turnitin, they have seen a great increase in student satisfaction and the creation of a culture of academic integrity.
“I am always joking we can look at the future with optimism, not necessarily with happiness. We have to go through this process and these steps and challenges to get to the core of this understanding. Starting from changing the culture and using the appropriate system as an instrumental tool for reaching sustainable results.”
Ruslan and his colleagues place great emphasis and value on feedback and use it as a learning tool through which students can grow and develop their writing skills.
“[Feedback] is extremely important, because it will influence the core attitude of the students. I think that this competence will assure that they will develop a career in which they will be recognized as honest and workable. It will give them more room for improvements or more demands to their competences.”
Ruslan has utilized Turnitin to improve the student experience and has witnessed wonderful progress since its adoption. He has worked hard to ensure that his students are receiving all the tools they need to be successful in their future endeavors.
