Amy Emanuel
Director of Online Learning , Christian Heritage College, Australia

HONORABLE MENTION
Excellence in Academic Integrity Award 2018
Australia and New Zealand, Higher Education

Amy Emanuel is Director of Online Learning at Christian Heritage College (CHC) Higher Education in Queensland, Australia. Established in 1986, the college caters for around 700 students and offers small class sizes with one-to-one student engagement.

Amy says that the college delivers personalized learning across 29 degree-level courses, ranging from education to ministries, social science, liberal arts, and business. She has worked at the college for seven years and in 2014, helped implement the online submission and academic integrity platform, Turnitin.

Since its introduction, the college has seen a significant decrease in issues around academic integrity. Amy believes there are a number of reasons for this:

“We use Turnitin as the foundation for open dialogue and positive engagement with students about academic integrity,” she says. “Students can submit draft assignments before the submission date and run them through the similarity report.”

The feedback elements of Turnitin have been embraced by both academics and students at the college.
