Today, global academic integrity and assessment solutions provider, Turnitin, announced the completion of its acquisition of Ouriginal from Nordic private equity firm, Procuritas. Together the companies strengthen their shared mission to support universities and schools around the globe in upholding academic integrity.
Ouriginal, a company formed from the union of Urkund and PlagScan, has over three decades of experience in combining text-matching with writing-style analysis to promote academic integrity and prevent plagiarism in schools and universities. Amongst other notable accolades, the company was recently named EdTech Company of the Year 2021 by Higher Education Digest.
Ouriginal’s customer base, located primarily in the DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) and Nordic regions, complements Turnitin’s presence in other parts of Europe and around the world.
