Ethical AI use checklist for students

This student-facing checklist allows students to self-monitor their use of AI to complete assignments.

While educators often encourage and remind students of guidelines to follow so that they are upholding academic integrity in each phase of work, providing a checklist for students to self-monitor helps students to follow those guidelines, even when they are working without the educator being present. The checklist provides some guidance during all phases of work and suggests ways for students to make decisions that align with educator guidelines.

Specific attention is made to guide students in maintaining documentation at different phases of work in case a question arises later about the ethics of their usage of generative AI tools.
