OAKLAND, Calif. - April 2, 2024 - McGraw Hill, a publishing company for educational content, software, and services for pre-K through postgraduate education, and ExamSoft by Turnitin, an all-in-one digital platform that provides secure exams and data points to improve learning outcomes, teaching strategies, and the accreditation process, today announced their partnership on two pharmacy benchmark assessments. The Pre-APPE Readiness Assessment and P1 Readiness Assessment will provide assistance to pharmacy schools to measure readiness and support accreditation requirements.

The Pre-APPE Readiness Assessment (PARA) helps pharmacy schools evaluate student readiness for APPE and helps support accreditation by providing meaningful performance insights benchmarked against national comparison data. In addition, McGraw-Hill's Access Pharmacy, which is contained within the ExamSoft software platform, provides actionable guidance for students to identify gaps and find relevant remediation content.

“We are excited to combine our efforts through this partnership, to provide meaningful comparator data and category-based reporting at both the student and program level,” said Michael Weitz, Global Publisher for McGraw Hill. “Access to insights and evaluation data at various points throughout the student’s pharmaceutical education, allow pharmacy programs and educators to continuously improve learning outcomes and empower students for NAPLEX® success.

AccessPharmacy is an online curricular resource designed to meet the changing demands of pharmacy education. McGraw-Hill’s collection includes over 80 key pharmacy reference texts that provide authoritative and current pharmaceutical data.

P1 Readiness Assessment identifies at-risk students early on in their programs by evaluating foundational knowledge required for PharmD success and uncovering gaps for proactive support. The assessment evaluates fundamental knowledge and skills required for success in any PharmD program. By mimicking the structure and question types of the NAPLEX®, it also gives students a jumpstart in preparing for the NAPLEX®.

“This partnership represents a major step forward in understanding opportunities for growth and overall readiness of pharmacy students, further preparing them for both assessments and real-life scenarios they may face as pharmacy professionals,” said Todd Baker, Vice President of Alliances for Turnitin. “Performance evaluation and real-time benchmark data at the individual, school, college and program level, gives students an opportunity to focus their study plans and gives institutions a chance to adjust curricula and streamline the feedback loop in order to meaningfully improve outcomes for students.”
