Global Innovation Awards 2016: Winner

Obehi Christina Patricia Uadiale is a Senior at Hampton High School in Hampton, Georgia. Opened in 2014, Hampton High School aims to be a technology-centric school, providing students with laptops and ready access to wifi.

The school has also placed a heavy focus on personalized learning, implementing a school-wide plan that is backed by a personalized learning coach and manager.

For Obehi, this environment is a great one to learn in. She is able to study her subjects more at her pace. To that end, writing has been one of her passions. She especially enjoys free verse poetry and recently attended Rhode Island School of Design on a six-week scholarship for their Pre-College Art Program.

Nominated by Dr. Marye Smith, Obehi’s AP Language and Composition instructor, Obehi found that Turnitin’s Feedback Studio was invaluable for getting personalized feedback on grammar and other writing issues. She also found the originality score to be useful for helping her work better with outside sources.

According to Obehi, Dr. Smith’s class pushed her to a new level, making her both better at citing and a better writer all around.
