Help Center: Writing a Review in PeerMark as a Student
When an instructor creates a PeerMark assignment, he or she will set the assignment to either distribute papers to students automatically or allow students to choose papers to review or a combination of both. Papers will become available for review on the PeerMark assignment start date.
Students will be able to write reviews for assigned papers by clicking on the Start Review button next to a Pre-Assigned review.
How to write a Peer Review for an assigned paper
1. Click on the class name
2. Click on the "Show details" link to the right of the PeerMark assignment
3. Click on the "Start Review" button next to Pre-Assigned under the Type column
PeerMark will open. All the questions a student must answer in this review are located on the right side of the PeerMark screen.
4. To answer a free response question, type your answer in the text box provided below the question. The minimum word count is located directly below the text box
5. To answer a scale question click the radio button above the number for the rating you are giving this paper for the question
6. Click on the "Submit" button when you are completed with the review. If you would like to save your progress so you can leave and work on the review at a later time click on the "Save" button
Students will be able to select papers for review by clicking on the Start Review button to the right of the Student Choice type of review.
How to write a Peer Review for a chosen paper
1. Click on the class name
2. Click on the "Show details" link to the right of the PeerMark assignment
3. Click on the "Start Review" button next to Student Choice under the Type column
4. The student must first select which paper they would like to review. All the available papers with an excerpt from the paper are listed for the student to review. If you would like to see the full text of a paper click on the grey plus icon at the bottom right corner of the excerpt
5. Click on the "Review This Paper" button next to the paper you would like to review
PeerMark will open. All the questions a student must answer in this review are located on the right side of the PeerMark screen.
6. To answer a free response question, type your answer in the text box provided below the question. The minimum word count is located directly below the text box
7. To answer a scale question click the radio button above the number for the rating you are giving this paper for the question
8. Click on the "Submit" button when you are completed with the review. If you would like to save your progress so you can leave and work on the review at a later time click on the "Save" button

- Peer Reviews can be saved and closed for later completion by clicking the Save button at the top right of the PeerMark screen.
