Help Center: Is it considered plagiarism to submit my own work for two different classes?
The issue of "self-plagiarism" is usually a matter of institutional policy. Generally, institutions say that you cannot turn in the same assignment for a separate course without EXPLICIT permission from the instructor that it's OK to do so.
This is because you've already received a grade and credit for the work completed. Turning in the same assignment again means you would be getting credit TWICE for a single piece of work. Generally, a degree is conferred for completing a certain amount of work; such "double-dipping" can devalue the degrees granted by an institution and is generally not permitted.
Your instructor or institution may have very different views on this. We STRONGLY suggest that you inquire about your institution's SPECIFIC policies.
