Help Center: Scaling Grades in GradeBook
Instructors can give assignments different weights toward the final grade in the GradeBook using the scale tool.
How to scale grades
1. Click on the class name
2. Click the "gradebook" tab
3. Click the scale button
4. Enter the percentage of the final grade you would like to designate for each assignment in the scaled value field
5. Click submit to save the changes
Additional Information
- The sum of the designated percentages for the assignments in the GradeBook must equal 100%.
- Percentages will automatically be naturalized (set to a percentage of the final grade based on the point value of the assignment vs. the total points available in the class). If an assignment is added to the class after the assignments have been scaled the scaling percentages will be reset. For this reason it is recommended that all assignments be created before any scaling of the assignments is performed.
- GradeBook is only available for use by instructors in accounts which have purchased the GradeBook module. If you are interested in purchasing GradeBook, please contact your Turnitin sales representative.
