Help Center: Resetting a Class End Date
When an instructor creates a class in Turnitin he or she has the ability to set an end date for the class. Class end dates will default to being set six months after the start date of the class. Once a class has been created, the instructor can reset the class end date using the update tool for the class. Only the class instructor can reset the class end date.
How to reset a class end date
1. Click on the edit icon to the right of the class name
2. Reset the class end date using the date pull down menus
3. Click submit to save the changes
Additional Information
- If the instructor does not see the class he or she would like to reset the end date for, he or she may need to use the "show:" pull down menu at the top of the class list to view "all classes"
- Students will not be able to submit papers after the class end date has passed. Once the end date has been reset students will be able to resume submitting papers.
- In addition to extending the length of a class, the class end date can be reset to the current date to expire or archive a class.
- For information regarding setting the class end date at the time of the class' creation, please view our article on creating a class.
- The end dates for sections of a master class are based on the end date of the master class and cannot be reset individually. To reset the end date of a section the master class' end date must be reset.
