Help Center: Pushing Assignments to Sections

When an assignment is created in a master class it must be pushed to the sections of the class before submissions can be made to the assignment. The master class instructor can choose to push assignments he or she has created to all or only some of the sections in the master class. Assignments may also be pushed with or without dates. Assignments can be pushed at the end of the assignment creation process (instructors will be automatically prompted to push the assignment) or through the assignment push tool.

Additional Information

  • Only assignments created in the master class can be pushed to sections. All assignments must be pushed by the master class instructor.
  • Assignments pushed without dates, must be modified and given dates by the section TA before students will be able to submit to the assignment.
  • The degree to which an assignment has been pushed will appear in parentheses next to the push tool in the master class. Full indicates that the assignment has been pushed to all of the sections. Partial indicates that the assignment was pushed to only some of the sections. Not pushed indicates that the assignment was not pushed to any of the sections.
  • If an assignment is modified by the master class instructor, the changed assignment must be pushed (or re-pushed) to sections for the changes to affect the assignments in the sections.
  • Once an assignment has been modified by the TA of a section, no further changes to the master assignment can be pushed to that section's assignment.
