Help Center: Excluding Quoted Material from an Originality Report
Text that appears between quotation marks in a paper can be excluded from the Originality Report using the exclude quoted tool. Both students and instructors can use this tool to view what the Overall Similarity Index (OSI) of a paper would be without the inclusion of quoted material. When an instructor uses the tool, quoted material will remain excluded from the report until the instructor chooses to include quoted material. This will cause the new OSI to appear in the assignment inbox. If a student chooses to exclude quoted material this will only effect a temporary change to the report. As soon as the report is closed, the quoted material will be reincluded.
