Help Center: Creating "Draft" Assignments

When creating an assignment, instructors have the option of setting the assignment to be a "draft" assignment. Draft assignments do not generate Originality Reports and are not entered into the student paper database.

How to create a "draft" assignment

The class name link on the instructor's homepage

1. Click on the class name

2. Click on the "new assignment"button

The Paper Assignment radio button selected

3. Select "Paper Assignment" by clicking in the radio button next to Paper Assignment if it is not currently selected

4. Click on the Next Step button

5. Enter a name for the assignment

6. Set the assignment dates and times using the date pull down menus

7. Click on more options to view the advanced assignment options

8. Select "no" from the "Generate Originality Reports for submissions?" pull down menu

9. Click submit to create the assignment

Additional Information

  • A dash will appear in the assignment inbox in the place of an Originality Report for draft assignments.
