Help Center: Creating QuickMarkSM Editing Marks in GradeMark®

A QuickMark is a standard mark that is reused on student papers and can be tracked through the statistics tool in GradeMark. GradeMark comes with four QuickMark sets for standard editing. Instructors and administrators can create additional QuickMark editing marks and QuickMark sets for their own use.

How to create a QuickMark editing mark

The class name link

1. Click on the class name

2. Click on the "View" link to the right of the assignment name

4. Click "Tools"

5. Click "QuickMark Library"

6. If a new QuickMark set has not been previously created, click on the New pulldown menu at the top of the screen and click on New QuickMark Set. If a set has already been created skip to step 8

7. Enter a name for the new QuickMark set and click "Save"

8. Select the QuickMark set you would like to add a Quickmark to (Quickmarks cannot be added to sets that have a lock icon next to them)

9. Click on the New pulldown menu and select New Quickmark

10. Fill out the QuickMark symbol field, the name field, and the description field then click Save

The QuickMark symbol is what appears on the page. The name field for the quickmark is what first appears in the description box in bold letters, while the description describes what the mark means.

Additional Information

  • QuickMark sets can be added to and removed from the QuickMark Palette. For information of using the QuickMark Palette, please view our article on managing the QuickMark Palette.
  • Master class instructors can share QuickMark sets they have created with their section TAs and account administrators can share QuickMark sets they have created with the instructors in their account. For information on sharing QuickMark sets, please view our article on sharing QuickMark sets.

  • To ensure that all marks added to a paper are saved, instructors must click save at the top of the GradeMark paper before closing the paper.
  • GradeMark is only available for use by instructors in accounts which have purchased the GradeMark module. If you are interested in purchasing GradeMark, please contact your Turnitin sales representative.
