Help Center: Changing the Account Administrator
Turnitin account administrators are set when the account is first purchased. Account administrators are responsible for distributing the account id and join password to instructors or alternately adding instructors to the account. Administrators are the only users capable of dropping instructors from accounts and viewing account statistics. From the administrator's account, the administrator can be modified through the update icon for the account.
How to change the account administrator
1. Login as the account administrator and click the edit icon to the right of the account name.
2. Modify the e-mail address, last and first name of the administrator in the appropriate fields.
3. Click submit to finalize changes.
If you cannot access the administrator's account, a Turnitin representative can change the account administrator for you; however, in order for us to do so you must fax the request to have the administrator changed to us at (510) 444-1952. The fax must be sent on the institution's official letterhead and contain the name of the previous administrator as well as the name, e-mail address, user password and contact information for the new administrator.
