Help Center: Attaching a Rubric to an Assignment in GradeMark®

Rubrics must be attached to assignments to be used. Instructors can attach rubrics to assignments in the Rubric Library. When a rubric has been attached to an assignment it can be accessed for grading through the rubric scorecard.

How to attach a rubric to an assignment

The class name link

1. Click on the class name

The View link to the right of the assignment name

2. Click on the "View" link to the right of the assignment name

The GradeMark icon

3. Click on the GradeMark icon for a paper

4. Click "Tools" on the GradeMark toolbar

Clicked Rubric Library

5. Click "Rubric Library"

The gray check mark to the left of the name of the rubric

6. Click the gray check mark next to the name of the rubric you would like to attach to the assignment

The red check mark next to the rubric name which means that the rubric is attached to the assignment

7. The check mark will turn red verifying that the rubric is now attached to the assignment

8. If a rubric has already been attached to the assignment but you would like to attach a new rubric, click on the gray check mark next to the rubric you would like to attach to the assignment

The confirmation window

9. "A Rubric is already assigned confirmation" window will open informing you that "This assignment currently has a rubric attached. Attaching a different rubric will permanently erase the existing scoring information for this assignment deleting your scoring information cannot be undone. Would you like to continue?" Click "Ok, Assign a new Rubric" to assign the new rubric.

Additional Information

  • If another rubric was previously attached to the assignment, attaching the new rubric will replace the previous rubric and will remove any information that had been added to the rubric scorecard.
