Help Center: The Assignment Inbox
The assignment inbox is where an instructor can find all the papers submitted to an assignment as well as the Originality Reports for those papers. All of the students enrolled in a class will appear in the assignment inbox. Students who have not yet submitted papers to the assignment will have "no submission" listed to the right of their name. The inbox sorts submissions by the Overall Similarity Index (the percentage listed next to the Originality Report icon) by default; however, instructors can also sort the inbox by author name, submission date or paper title.
How to sort submissions in the assignment inbox
1. Click on the class name
2. Click on the "View" link to the right of the assignment name
3. Click on the column header for the criteria you would like to sort the inbox according to (i.e. author name)
Additional Information
- Assignment inboxes can cover multiple pages. If instructors do not see the student or paper they are looking for in the inbox, the student or paper may be on a different page. To move through the pages in an assignment inbox, the instructor should use the small page number links on the upper left corner of the inbox.
- If "no submission" appears next to the name of a student who the instructor believes to have already submitted a paper to the assignment, it is possible the student may have enrolled in the class multiple times using different e-mail addresses. To see if this has occurred, the instructor should sort the inbox by author name. This will group the enrollments with the same name together.
- If the instructor has set the assignment to allow submissions after the due date, the submission date for late submissions will appear in red.
