Help Center: Assigning Master Class Section TAs
Master classes are designed to allow instructors to create a class with sections. While the master class instructor can create and push assignments to section and access all of the submissions to every section, each section of a master class can be assigned a TA who will also have the ability to oversee the assignments and submissions of the section. TAs can either join the master class using the master class id and TA join password thus creating a section for themselves or they can be assigned to an existing section by the master class instructor.

Additional Information
- TAs can also be assigned to a section when the master class instructor first creates the section. For more information regarding this, please view our article on adding sections to a master class.
- When a master class instructor enters the TA information for the section, Turnitin will automatically e-mail the TA a notification of the addition. If the TA has not previously used the system a temporary user password will be automatically generated for the TA and sent in the notification e-mail. If the TA has previously used the system, he or she will need to use his or her previous password to sign in to Turnitin.
- Section TAs will only have access to those papers submitted to their sections.
- For information on creating assignments for master classes, please view our article on pushing assignments to sections.
- The master class id and join password can be found in the same method as the class id and enrollment password of a standard class. Please view our article on viewing class enrollment information for more information regarding this.
- TAs with preexisting Turnitin accounts can use the master class id and join password and click on the "join an account" tab in their existing Turnitin account to join a master class and create a section.
