Help Center: Allowing Submissions After the Assignment Due Date
By default Turnitin assignments will not accept submissions from students after the assignment's due date has passed. If the instructor would like to accept submissions after the assignment due date, he or she can use the advanced assignment options to set the assignment to allow late submissions.
How to set an assignment to accept late submissions
1. Click on the class name
2. Click on the "More actions" link to the right of the assignment name and select "Edit settings"
3. Click on the "more options" link to view the advanced assignment options
4. Select "yes" from the "Allow submissions after the due date?" option
5. Click submit to save the changes
Additional Information
- Instructors can also choose to allow late submissions at the time the assignment is created by using the advanced assignment options at that time. For information on assignment creation, please view our article on creating an assignment.
- If the assignment is set to allow overwrites until the due date, resubmissions will only be accepted until the assignment due date. Only new submissions can be submitted after the assignment due date.
- For information on resetting an assignment due date, please view our article on modifying assignment dates.
