Adding Instructors


Turnitin account administrators can add instructors to accounts through the account instructor list.

How to add an individual instructor to an account


1. Click the red instructor icon to the right of the account name. Instructors icon
2. Click the add instructor link at the top of the instructor list. add instructor link
3. Enter the instructor's name and e-mail address in the appropriate fields. instructor information
4. Click submit to finalize the addition submit instructor info

Lists of instructors can be uploaded as well.

How to upload a list of instructors to an account


1. Click the red instructor icon to the right of the account name. account id
2. Click the upload list link at the top of the instructor list. update icon
3. Click browse to find the instructor list file on your computer. Join Password
4. Find the file on your computer and click open. open file
5. Click submit to upload the list. submit list
6. Review the list of instructors and click yes, submit to finalize the list submission. yes submit instructor list

  • When an administrator adds an instructor (or instructors) to the account instructor list, Turnitin will automatically e-mail the instructor (or instructors) a notification of the addition. If the instructor has not previously used the system a temporary user password will be automatically generated for the instructor and sent in the notification e-mail. If the instructor has previously used the system, he or she will need to use his or her previous password to sign in to Turnitin.

  • For each user in your list, you must include the user's e-mail address, last name, and first name in this order: first name, last name, e-mail address.

  • Instructor list files can be saved in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, or Plain Text format. Please note Word and text files must contain commas between the instructors' e-mail addresses, last names and first names.
