Humanities (IB MYP II-III)
This rubric is part of the IB (International Baccalaureate) Middle Years Program, for years II-III (Grade 7-8) curriculum for Humanities.
Humanities courses potentially consist of a broad range of traditionally separate subjects (geography, history, economics, politics, civics, sociology, anthropology, and psychology).*

This rubric utilizes the following criteria:
- Knowledge and Understanding: Use humanities terminology in context; and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of subject-specific appropriate to the age level using descriptions, explanations and examples.
- Investigating: Formulate a clear and focused research question; formulate an action plan to investigate a research question; use methods accurately to collect and record information consistent with the research question; and effectively address the research question.
- Critical Thinking: Analyze concepts, events, issues, models, and arguments; analyze and evaluate a range of sources in terms of origin and purpose, recognizing values and limitations; recognize different perspectives and their implications; and make connections between information in order to make valid, well-supported arguments.
- Communicating: Communicate information and ideas using an appropriate style for the audience and purpose; structure information and ideas in a way that is appropriate to the specified format; and create a list of sources of information according to the task instructions (MLA style).
