Turnitin to Participate in Google I/O on May 16, 2013

Education leader invited to showcase technology in developer sandbox

OAKLAND, Calif. (May 13, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, today announced participation in the Google I/O developer conference, an annual event attended by a wide range of developers who have built applications based on technologies and products that are featured at I/O.

Google I/O allows attendees to exchange ideas and answer questions in highly technical, in-depth sessions that showcase the latest technologies from Google’s product teams and partners. The conference returns to San Francisco’s Moscone West Convention Center from May 15-17, 2013. Turnitin was invited to demo its application on Day 2 of the conference.

Turnitin Named Finalist by Return on Education Innovation Awards

Program for providing feedback to students recognized as highly innovative technology in Teacher Support category

OAKLAND, Calif. (April 11, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, was named a finalist for the Return on Education (ROE) Innovation Award sponsored by Arizona State University, the Clayton Christensen Institute and GSV Advisors. Turnitin was chosen in the Teacher Support category based on its ability to dramatically improve learning outcomes, provide substantial leverage to educators, significantly increase access and/or greatly reduce costs for educational institutions. Additional consideration was given for scale and sustainability achieved by a highly innovative approach.

Alliance of Academic Integrity Announced at the 5th International Plagiarism Conference

Global association will facilitate an international conversation about academic integrity in a changing educational environment

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom (July 17, 2012) -- Academics from three continents announced today a global alliance to promote research and knowledge-sharing about academic integrity at the 5th International Plagiarism Conference in Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K.

The International Association of Academic Integrity Conferences (IAAIC) will facilitate an international dialogue on academic integrity that will help foster research and idea exchange as institutions worldwide navigate the rapidly changing academic integrity landscape that has resulted from the greater emphasis on the Internet and social media in education.

Member conferences of the IAAIC include:

  • International Plagiarism Conference, hosted by PlagiarismAdvice.org (U.K.);
  • The International Center for Academic Integrity, Clemson University (U.S.);
  • Asia Pacific Forum on Educational Integrity, Adelaide, South Australia.

“On issues ranging from cheating and plagiarism to pedagogy and best practices, the IAAIC will support ongoing research from both practitioners and institutions in the global education community,” said Gill Rowell, conference chair of the 5th International Plagiarism Conference.

Turnitin Selected as CODiE Award Finalist for Best Cross-Curricular Educational Solution

Prestigious Award from SIIA Recognizes Solution that Improves Student Writing

(April 2, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, was named a finalist for the 2013 SIIA CODiE Award for Best Cross-Curricular Solution in the education category. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier award for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 27 years.

International Plagiarism Conference Reaches Record Registrations

More than 250 scholars to share current research on academic integrity at international conference

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom (July 5, 2012) -- The 5th International Plagiarism Conference is nearing its registration maximum as leading academics plan to convene from July 16-18 at The Sage Gateshead in Newcastle upon Tyne. Presented by PlagiarismAdvice.org, this year’s conference celebrates 10 years of providing academic institutions and organizations worldwide with the latest research on plagiarism trends, research, and innovative approaches to handling issues of academic integrity.

The conference’s featured keynote speakers reflect the reach that issues of plagiarism and academic integrity have across disciplines, borders and institutions:
