Turnitin’s Fall Webcasts Help Educators Improve Their Feedback

iPad app saves instructors time while providing richer feedback for evaluating
student writing

OAKLAND, Calif. (Aug 8, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, today announced the availability of Turnitin for iPad in the App Store. Turnitin for iPad allows instructors to check student submissions for originality, add QuickMark® and general comments, leave a voice comment, and grade the paper with rubrics. All work done using Turnitin for iPad automatically syncs with instructors’ Turnitin accounts, allowing instructors to literally Grade Anywhere™.

Turnitin for iPad works directly with Turnitin and through any LMS-integrated version of Turnitin. The app is free for existing Turnitin customers and can be downloaded from the App Store.

Turnitin will demonstrate the app during a 30-minute webcast, “Grade Anywhere: Turnitin for iPad,” on Tuesday, August 20. Register for the webcast.

Turnitin to Participate in Google I/O on May 16, 2013

Education leader invited to showcase technology in developer sandbox

OAKLAND, Calif. (May 13, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, today announced participation in the Google I/O developer conference, an annual event attended by a wide range of developers who have built applications based on technologies and products that are featured at I/O.

Google I/O allows attendees to exchange ideas and answer questions in highly technical, in-depth sessions that showcase the latest technologies from Google’s product teams and partners. The conference returns to San Francisco’s Moscone West Convention Center from May 15-17, 2013. Turnitin was invited to demo its application on Day 2 of the conference.

Turnitin Named Finalist by Return on Education Innovation Awards

Program for providing feedback to students recognized as highly innovative technology in Teacher Support category

OAKLAND, Calif. (April 11, 2013) -- Turnitin, the leader in originality checking and online grading, was named a finalist for the Return on Education (ROE) Innovation Award sponsored by Arizona State University, the Clayton Christensen Institute and GSV Advisors. Turnitin was chosen in the Teacher Support category based on its ability to dramatically improve learning outcomes, provide substantial leverage to educators, significantly increase access and/or greatly reduce costs for educational institutions. Additional consideration was given for scale and sustainability achieved by a highly innovative approach.
