Maybee is in the general education department at South University and teaches all levels of English, from developmental writing through upper level composition. “We are now dealing with multitudes of underprepared students and students returning to college to change careers.” In her classroom, Turnitin Feedback Studio has helped encourage creative researching, critical thinking, and better composition.
“Everything that students write is persuasive in one way or another, regardless of whether it’s literature or a simple compare/contrast composition.” Maybee uses Turnitin Feedback Studio to help students develop original thinking. She uses source matching to indicate to students what ideas have already been explored, and motivate them to develop new arguments and perspectives.
Feedback Studio allows Maybee to review potentially plagiarized content with students and examine how to properly cite or paraphrase, to avoid similarity.
